The Real Cause of Global Climate Change
The real causes of climate change are many and their interaction is complex, but the greatest of these causes are astronomical, rather than earthbound. Chief among these is the uneven distribution of cosmic dust throughout the cosmos. Carl Sagan proposed this in the 1970s, but "climate change scientists" are apparently not schooled in astronomy, and look to earthbound causes for climate change. Those earthbound causes do not exist.
The truth is that, when our solar system passes through one of the spiral arms of the Milky Way, our planet experiences one of the Great Ice Ages, due to the increased concentration of cosmic dust within the arms (This is known fact). These great ice ages last for millions of years (yes, it takes millions of years to pass through a spiral arm), a time period that allows for the evolution of species that are adapted to life on the ice; like the woolly mammoth and other creatures whose remains are found in deep ice.
When our solar system passes out of the spiral arms and moves into clear space, the planet experiences warming, as it has for the past 10,000 years. The opposite state of the climate is not what we have now, but would be a period when there are no polar ice caps and no annual accumulation of ice anywhere on the planet. That is how it was during the late Triassic and Jurassic periods, when the great dinosaurs walked the earth. The Age of the Dinosaurs lasted for millions of years and there were no polar ice caps and no annual accumulation of ice during all of that time.
So, these are the extremes of climate on this planet: At one extreme, 2/3rds of the planet is covered with ice and at the other extreme, there are no polar ice caps and no annual accumulation of ice anywhere on the planet. Both extremes have occurred in the past, not once, but several times. The time period between the extremes is not measured in thousands of years or even millions of years but in hundreds of millions of years. No one alive today will ever experience either extreme, nor will any of your grandchildren (Short of a global nuclear holocaust, which, at worst, would cause a micro ice age, lasting not more than a couple of decades), nor did any of your human ancestors.
At the current time, we seem to be very close to the midpoint between the extremes and there is no global climate crisis, just the normal state of a climate in transition. Over the past 500 million years, average annual global temperature has been as low as 10 degrees Celsius and as high as 20 degrees Celsius. At this time it is somewhere between 14.6 and 14.8 degrees Celsius, very near the middle of the range.
CO2 concentration has been as high as 4500 ppm and as low as 200 ppm. It is now a little less than 400 ppm, which is less than 1/10th of the highest concentration. And while there appears to be some correlation between CO2 concentration and temperature over the past 400 years, there is no correlation over the longer time period of 400 or 500 million years. The lack of correlation over the longer period disproves the allegation that CO2 is a cause of warming. CO2 concentration does not cause climate warming. CO2 is not a pollutant, it is necessary to the life of green plants, which are necessary to the food chain of this planet. Plants use sunlight to turn CO2 into sugars, starches and oils that are the basis of the global food chain.
In short, climate change is not man made and there is nothing that we can do about it - It is simply a consequence of the design of the universe.
Globalists reject this truth and embrace the fantasy of man-made climate change because the truth does not offer the opportunity of a global agency for climate monitoring and a global tax to support it.
